CREW MISS SEMI-FINALS AT BELHAVEN FUTSAL TOURNAMENT
JACKSON, Miss – The Gulf Coast Crew made another appearance at the Belhaven College annual futsal tournament. Last year the Crew lost in a thrilling final in overtime against the Blazers from Belhaven College. Much was expected this year as the Crew started off by defeating Meridian Community College in game one of bracket play. In game two the Crew fell to Belhaven Alumni, the eventual tournament champions, by a score of 5-7. The Crew needed to win game three to be the top second place team out of the three tournament brackets in order to make it to the semi-finals. As game three came and went the Crew were upset by Millsaps College and were unable to compete further in the tournament. The team expects to return for the 2010 futsal tournament and finish with better results.

CREW TAKES 1ST PLACE AT "FUN 'N SUN" 3V3 TOURNAMENT
GAUTIER, Miss. - With a goal of meeting in the final, two Gulf Coast Crew teams entered into the "Fun 'N Sun" 3v3 tournament. Gulf Coast Crew team red and team white took first place in their respective brackets with a clean sweep to make the play-offs. Gulf Coast Crew red beat "Wasted Effort" in the semi-final to advance to the championship match. Because the acting tournament committee decided flip-flopped their rules, Gulf Coast Crew white had to play down a man the entire semi-final due to a red card. The "MC Choctaws" beat Crew white by one goal as they played 2 verses 3 throughout the semi-final. Crew red did their part in the final as they ran through the "MC Choctaws" with a score of 9-5 to take first place. "It was a pretty unprofessional environment but I'm glad one of our teams did what they were suppose to this weekend," said Gulf Coast Crew white team member, James Poole. The Crew plan on competing next in their own "Christmas with the Crew" 7-a-side in December.
