![]() David Smith (Junior) Delta State University Smith netted 10 goals and 2 assists in his first 8 games as a Statesmen. He was awarded as the first ever Delta State University Male Athlete of the Week as well as the Gulf South Conference Male Player of the Week in September. Smith ranked as the third leading scorer in the Gulf South Conference. Delta State ended with an 8-9-1 record for the 2008 season. Jarred Wooley (Senior) Richard Beebe (Junior) William Carey University Wooley finished the 2008 season with 12 goals, which ranked him first on his team and third in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. In October Wooley was the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week and was nominated as the NAIA National Player of the Week. Beebe finished the season with 1 goal and 1 assist. With a record of 12-5-1 William Carey finished second in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and 25th in the NAIA top 25 national polls. Neil Scott (Senior) Belhaven College Scott’s Belhaven Blazers had a record season with 14 wins and a peak position of 6th in the NAIA top 25 national polls. With a record of 14-4-1 Belhaven finished 3rd in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and receiving votes into the NAIA top 25 national polls. Angel Plascencia (Freshmen) Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. Plascencia finished with 7 goals with 6 assists on the 2008 season. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs lost to the Hinds Community College Eagles in the MACJC state championship game. Matt Clifton (Sophomore) Nick Zelenka (Sophomore) Meridian C.C. Clifton finished with 3 goals on the 2008 season, which tied him for second leading scorer on the team. Zelenka finish with 1 goal on the season. The Meridian Community College Eagles lost to Hinds Community College Eagles in the men’s Region 23 Championship game and finished with a record of 8-7-3. _______________________

| PASCAGOULA, Miss. - Soggy fields set the stage for the 3rd annual "Christmas with the Crew". The wet conditions did not hold back the quality teams that arrived to compete throughout the single-day tournament. With a win over "Meridian FC" and a tie versus "Coastal United" in bracket play, the Gulf Coast Crew advanced to the quarter-finals where they took down "Los Tres" to advance. Unable to gain a bye to the finals via a coin toss, the Crew had to play a semi-final which was lost to "Diversity," the eventual tournament winners. Another successful winter tournament helped to set the date for the 4th annual "Christmas with the Crew" 7-a-side tournament, which is planned for December 11, 2010. |

| GAUTIER, Miss. - The cold temperatures didn't slow down the Crew as they swept through the competition at the "Freezing with DHS" National Qualifier. The Crew won their three-team bracket by beating "Wells-Fargo" in game one and "Pascagoula FC" in game two. This earned them a semi-final game in which they took down "Gautier." In the final the Gulf Coast Crew won the first place trophy by outscoring the "Studs" 8 to 5. The Crew rostered Angel Plascencia, Neil Scott, Taylor Skelton, David Smith, and Zach Villarrubia for the tournament. The Crew will look to have similar results when they host the 3rd annual Gulf Coast Crew 3v3 in July. |

| PASCAGOULA, Miss. - An exciting weekend of soccer brought hundreds of players, fans, and spectators to the Pascagoula Soccer Complex for the Gulf Coast Crew "Under the Lights" 7-A-Side tournament. Lightning in the night sky postponed a few games early in the tournament. Day two of the 7-a-side finished up the group play games and moved on to the play-offs. In the premier bracket, "Redline Extreme" outscored "Mobile United Founding Fathers" to take first place. In the consolation bracket, "Fire FC" narrowly defeated the "St. John Warriors" to win the consolation trophy. The next Gulf Coast Crew tournament will be a 3v3 on July 10-11. |

| PASCAGOULA, Miss – Almost 700 goals were scored throughout a great weekend of soccer. Teams from Mississippi and and many surrounding states came together for the 3rd annual Gulf Coast Crew 3v3 tournament in Pascagoula. In the U8 division the "MS Fire Jrs" defeated "CR9" by 6 goals to 1 to win the championship. "Celtic Fire '02" won 3rd by outlasting "Combeaux FC". In the U12 boys division "St. John Black" narrowly defeated "DTF '98" 3-1 in the final, while the "Yellow Jackets" beat "Celtic Fire '99" in the 3rd place game. The local team, "SRSC Terminators" won the U12 girls division, while "Chelsea" took 2nd and "Surge" finished 3rd. The U14 and U16 boys combined to make one division. The "St. John Warriors" won the U14/U16 division as the "Gulf Coast Hotspurs" and "SRSC Blackhawks" took 2nd and 3rd respectivly. The Co-Ed division saw the "Ball Breakers" finish with the most points with "Montvello" finishing 2nd and the "Ball Busters" finishing 3rd. The Open division championship game went all the way to overtime as "Thud" beat "La Furia Roja" 10 to 9. The 4th annual Gulf Coast Crew 3v3 will be scheduled for July of 2011 and expects to continue to grow as it has in each of the last 3 years. |

| PASCAGOULA, Miss. - For the past three years the annual "Christmas with the Crew" soccer tournament has been a 7-a-side format. A successful 5-a-side format was implemented this year. The quality field of the Pascagoula Soccer Complex combined with excelent weather made perfect conditions for this years tournament. The annaual winter tournament registered men's open division and co-ed division teams. Both divisions saw tough competition and both had local champions from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The Gulf Coast Crew will host a 7-a-side tournament and a 3v3 tournament in the summer of 2011. |

| GAUTIER, Miss. - The Gulf Coast Crew have now won three straight "Freezin' with DHS" winter 3v3 tournaments with the latest being in December 2010. The Crew went undefeated in 5 total games and won each by a 5 goals or greater margin. By finishing first in the bracket, the team beat "Fire" in the quarter-finals, "Chelsea" in the semi-finals, and "Cameron FC" in the final. With 3v3 tournaments quickly growing in popularity, the Gulf Coast Crew look forward to hosting the 4th annual Gulf Coast Crew 3v3 tournament in July 2011. The Crew's 3v3 has become one of Mississippi's top small-sided tournaments and intends to progress every year. |

| PASCAGOULA, Miss. - "The Dream Team" finished in the number one spot at the annual summer 7-a-side tournament hosted by the Gulf Coast Crew. The tournament's two semi-final games consisted of "Gulf Coast Revolution" beating the "Mobile United" by a score of 12-6 and "The Dream Team" overwhelming the "Mississippi Sounders" by a score of 11-3. "The Dream Team" went on to beat "Gulf Coast Revolution" in the open championship to claim the first place trophy. Teams were treated to freebies from Anheuser-Busch throughout the event. |

| PASCAGOULA, Miss. - Campers gathered for a great 3 days of soccer fun and learning at the 5th annual Gulf Coast Crew Soccer Camp. Throughout the week campers from ages 5-14 competed in fun games and activities that were designed for a learning environment by camp director Neil Scott. This annual youth soccer camp is co-hosted by the City of Pascagoula Parks and Recreation. The 6th annual camp will be held in June 2012. More information and online registration can be found here. |

| PASCAGOULA, Miss – Great weather and 3v3 teams from all over the southeastern United States made for another successful 3v3 soccer tournament hosted by the Gulf Coast Crew. Boys and girls as young as 7 to men and women in the open division and everyone in-between attempted to be named champion of their respective division. In the U8 co-ed division, the "Firebolts" beat the "Mobile Rowdies" to claim 1st place. The "Mississippi Fire Juniors" claimed 1st place in the U10 boys division just on top of the 2nd place team, "SMSC Mustangs". In the U10 girls division "Ship Island S.C." topped the "River Region Fire" for 1st and 2nd place respectively. Through goal differential "Barcelona" claimed 1st place with "River Region Fire" a close 2nd. "Victorious Secret" accumulated the most points in the U12 girls division to take 1st, with "Wild Things" just behind to claim 2nd. The U14 boys division saw the "Rebels" beat "Mobile Ultimate" in the final. In the adult open division, the "3-Man Wolfpack" beat out the "Mississippi Sounder" in a competitive final.
