| Project Summary: The Gulf Coast Crew is currently an amateur men's soccer team based in south Mississippi. The Crew's continued success on and off the the field includes, hosting tournaments, camps, and charitable projects to promote the growth and popularity of soccer in the surrounding area. Due to the achievements of our organization and maintaining a high level of professionalism, a brand name has been established and has been spreading for the past 6 years. Our organization has recently gained enough popularity to be approached by the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) in regards of becoming an expansion team in this semi-professional league. The Crew is currently planning a path to join the league and start competition by May of 2012. The southeastern United States is full of talented soccer players that are capable of showcasing talent at a high level. |
| What is needed: Ownership is key for the Gulf Coast Crew to become an official franchise of the NPSL. This is a great opportunity for an individual, group of individuals, or business to own a semi-pro sports team in South Mississippi. The NPSL is a fairly inexpensive league that is growing quickly in popularity and newly forming teams. Funding is the most important aspect of our goal of joining and succeeding in the NPSL. South Mississippi and the surrounding area is full of soccer fans and youth players that deserve to have a local team to support and follow. Employment positions, internships, and volunteer positions will be offered for a variety of duties such as: game-day operations manager, promotion and advertising, sponsor management, certified athletic trainer, accounting, merchandise sales, concession sales, statistics, video, ticket collection, ball kids, bus driver, etc. |
| The NPSL: The National Premier Soccer League, is the successor of the Men’s Premier Soccer League which formed in 2002. In 2005, the league had been recreated into an expanded national league to accommodate teams from the Midwestern region, and in 2007 a Northeastern Region was added. In 2008, the National Premier Soccer League has become truly a national league with the addition of a Southeastern region. Each team plays a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 16 regular season games. The teams are comprised of players who play at the highest levels of soccer available to men. This highly competitive league helps all the teams gain access to elite players to fill their team roster, including but not limited to National Team, former and current University and College, foreign, amateur, former professional and youth players. All current collegiate players will be able to play soccer at an elite level and continue to maintain their eligibility, while incoming collegiate players can impress college scouts and coaches alike. The NPSL is sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) as an affiliate of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the ruling body for soccer in the United States and FIFA the world’s ruling body for soccer. www.nationalpremiersoccerleague.com |
